In a difficult year for a manufacturer and importer the overheads were cut by 800K from 2008 to 2009 and at the same time sales increased by 10%. This improved profit from a break even to 0.5 million.
This was achieved through a combination of:
- Improved sales and quotation system
- Overhead scrutiny
- Lean thinking
- Expansion of customer base
- Better financial management and planning
At the same time a simpler strategic plan was put in place and all non-essential tasks eliminated.
